Gentle Warmth for Comfort
Gentle warmth can increase local blood flow, relax tense muscles and ease discomfort. If your practitioner recommends it for mild soreness after acupuncture, apply a towel-wrapped hot-water bottle to the area for 10–15 minutes, then remove it and allow your skin to return to its normal temperature.
Use warm—not boiling—water. Avoid heat on fresh bruising, swelling, broken skin or numb areas. Contact your practitioner if pain persists or worsens.
